June 2023 Handiskins Results

Highlight of the Month June 2023

What a moment for Perter Kirwan from Cowra Golf Club the winner of Handiskins' Yamaha Chipping competition at the 2023 Handiskins National Championships  who accepted delivery of a brand new Yamaha Golf Cart from

Rod McDonald from Yamaha Australia was on hand to personally deliver the keys to this $15,000 dream machine. As you can see from the shots below - Rod looks deservedly pleased with his new wheels! All Handiskins players have the opportunity to qualify for this prize by getting a nearest the pin in a qualifying round. Find out more about the Yamaha Chipping Competition here.

Bankstown Golf Club Finalists 2023

  • Unfortunately one of the finalists at Bankstown Golf Club had to pull out at the last minute which left only 3 finalists battling it out for the $1,200. In the end Chris Hendley was the highest money winner with $567 from Lorenzo Aquino $447
  • The final at Waratah Golf Club went down to the wire with Grant Bailey outstaying Sam Naughten for top Spot. Bailey's total winnings was $440
  • Lakelands Golf Club had a very close final with low marker Jack Lea winning $275 to take the chocolates.
  • It was a ladies day out with Lynn Delahey winning a whopping $780 at the Wanneroo Golf Club final. Lynn also won the Made by Fressko re-usable drink containers valued at $130, so you can say that Lynn has cleaned up this year.
  • One of the Lynwood Country Club finalists unfortunately had to pull out due to illness which created an opportunity for the next person inline (Patrick Barlow) to step up and play in the $1,200 final. Some holes were a comedy of errors others were won with great birdies. Two finalists had a great day out and the other two whilst winning money could have won a lot more. Greg Climpson held on to finish as the highest money winner with $520 just from Stephen Crawford $500. Whilst Joel Brown had to pull out he will still get an invitation to play in the National final next year.

Well done everyone. We hope to see you at the Handiskins National Championship at Palm Meadows Golf Course in 2024 on the Gold Coast.

All four finalists from each club received a Bridgestone Golf Cap and their winnings above in Club Vouchers.

National Championships Qualifications 2024

All four finalists have now also qualified for the national championship and are extended an invitation to contest Australia's best Amateur golf championship at the 2024 Handiskins National Championship at Palm Meadows Golf Course next May. Given the great spirit shown in this months club finals, we are sure all four finalists would be in with a chance to claim the silverware and be crowned Handiskins National Champion. The 2024 event will be held from Wednesday 1st May to Sunday 5th May 2024.

Win a Yamaha Golf Cart with HandiskinsDon't forget the Yamaha Chipping Competition!

Don't forget that three players from each participating club also have the chance to clean up at the Handiskins National Championships Week. After taking out the the nearest the pin challenge in the first, third and fifth rounds of qualifying, don't be surprised if you see these qualifiers spending an extended amount of time around the club chipping greens in the coming months. All three players who took out the nearest the pin have scored an invitation to contest the Yamaha Chipping competition at the 2024 Handiskins Championship Week. The winner will return to their club as the owner of a brand new Yamaha Golf Cart - just like our lucky 2023 winner Peter Kirwin from Cowra Golf Club (watch below).
