Handiskins will determine all rules and will administer them in accordance with the R & A Rules of golf. All participants playing in the Handiskins National Championship by entering the event agree to abide by the rules set out for this event. All rules are as posted on the official Handiskins website.

Eligibility

  • Only players who have played in their club Handiskins final will be eligible to play in the Handiskins National Championship. These players are eligible to attend the Handiskins National Championship for 2 years following their club's Handiskins final.
  • Each entrant must have a current Golf Australia handicap.
  • The entrants, Golf Australia handicap on the day of the competition and the final will apply. In the final, handicaps will be revised as explained below.

National Championship Qualifying Rounds

  • There will be two qualifying rounds of single stableford competition.
  • Men will play off the designated men’s plate and ladies will play off the ladies plate and to the ladies par.
  • In the event of a tie for any of the daily prize vouchers a count back will be applied. The count back will be conducted on the last 3 holes counting back from the 18th hole, if still deadlocked the count back will apply to and include the next 3 hole and so on until the deadlock is broken and a winner is declared.
  • Each players stableford scores from the 2 qualifying round will be added together and the top 4 players will advance to the Handiskins National Championship Final. In the event of a tie in determining the 4 players to play in the Handiskins National Championship Final a countback will apply. The countback will apply in the same way the 4 finalists are determined for Handiskins club finals. The player with the highest individual score over the 2 days will advance to the Handiskins National Championship Final. In the event that the tie is still deadlocked a count back on the final 6 holes will apply. If a deadlock still applies the next 6 holes will be added and used in the count back until the deadlock is broken.

The Handiskins National Championship Final

  • The final will be played over 18 holes using the match play index. Should a lady be in the final she will play off the ladies tees, the ladies par but off the men’s match play index.
    • The lowest handicap will play off scratch and each other finalist will play from a reduced handicap.

      Example

Player "A" handicap 5 goes to scratch

      Player "B" handicap 12 goes to 7

      Player "C" handicap 19 goes to 14

      Player "D" handicap 23 goes to 18

  • Each hole will be played on the basis of "2 square all square" with the prize value of any hole not won outright jackpotting to the next hole.
  • The two nearest to the pin hole prizes will not be won unless one of the finalists is on the putting surface (the green) from their tee shot. In the event of more than one finalist being on the green it is the finalist that is closest to the pin that wins the prize.
  • In the event that the final hole is not won or that a nearest to the pin has not been won (example - there are prize vouchers not won at the conclusion of play) then such prize vouchers will be split between the four finalists.
  • The player with the highest value of prize vouchers at the completion of the days play will win the title of Handiskins National Champion.
  • In the event that 2 or more players have the same dollar value at the end of 18 holes they will continue on in a sudden death playoff to determine the Handiskins National Champion.
  • If 2 or more finalists are tied with the highest prize money value at the end of the 18 hole they will continue on in a sudden death playoff until someone wins a hole outright to become the Handiskins National Champion.

Handiskins, its sponsors and team would like to wish all participants the best golfing in your quest to make the Handiskins National Championship.
