A must visit for any golfer

I recently had the opportunity to visit and play this course and I cannot begin to recommend it enough. Everyone has told me how hard the course is especially if the wind is up but once you are there the words spectacular and stunning feels like you are selling it short.

The day starts with a short ferry ride (5 minutes) from Hamilton Island to the golf course where staff greet you at the jetty and transport you to the club house in a mini bus. Upon arrival at the club house you are greeted again by staff with a warm towel and booked in for your round of golf. You then proceed in your golf buggy to the practise chipping and putting area to warm up. I had the pleasure of meeting two gentlemen at the practise area and we arranged to play our round together.

The course itself was beautifully presented and in excellent nick. Who would have thought that a golf course on an island in the middle of nowhere would be so breathtaking. There was plenty of opportunities to stop, appreciate the amazing views and take photos of crystal clear blue waters and islands surrounding Hamilton Island Golf Course.

As this was my first time playing the course and not having the local knowledge I would be confident of lowering my score the next time I play there. It is a challenging course but if you’re like me you will love the challenge, it’s hard but fair.

My wife joined me in the clubhouse following golf for a lunch that is worthy of the highest praise at some of our best restaurants in Australia and the service by the staff was A1. I rate Hamilton Island and the Golf Course as one of the best I have ever played and the experience is second to none. There is plenty to do if you go as a family or just with your golfing mates.

Do yourself a favour and book an experience to remember.
