Clearwater Golf Club held the first ever New Zealand Handiskins Final on Saturday 3rd August 2019, with 1 lady and 3 gentlemen playing for the honour of being crowned New Zealands first Handiskins Champion. Vaughan Williamson won a hotly contested final overcoming strong challenges from Robin Clements, Lynda Viecell and William Brown. Well done to all and we look forward to seeing Robin Clements who has already booked into play at Royal Pines next year for the Handiskins Championships. We hope the other finalists from New Zealand will join them.
All four finalists received a Bridgestone Golf Cap and fought kit out for their share in $600 of Club Vouchers. The final standings were:
- Vaughn Williamson - $295
- Robin Clements - $135
- Lynda Viecell & William Brown - $85 each
National Finalists
All four finalists have now also qualified for the national championship and are extended an invitation to contest Australasia's best Amateur golf championship at the 2020 Handiskins National Final at RACV Royal Pines Resort next year (Wed 29 Apr - Sun 3 May 2020). Given the great spirit contesting today we are sure all four finalists would be able to claim the silverware and be crowned Handiskins National Champion. Handiskins National Final Packages are now open to qualifiers to secure their rooms.
