Around The Clubs – Late May & June 2025 Wrap Up
As the Australian winter began to settle in, the action on the fairways did anything but cool down. The late May and June qualifying period was defined by massive individual prize hauls and dramatic jackpot holes that shifted leaderboards in a single stroke.
The headline story from the turn of the month came from Toowoomba Golf Club, where Nev Nixon made the most of three big jackpot holes to rocket to the top with a dominant $660 victory. Similarly, at Lynwood Golf & Country Club, a single $280 jackpot hole proved to be the decider for Chris Manley, who finished his day with $600 in prize vouchers.
June also brought us one of the great "substitute" stories of the season at Sandy Creek Golf Club. When a finalist was unable to play, Mark Hoffman-Davis received the call-up of a lifetime, going on to have a "day out" and winning $700. From the clinical finish by Stephen Thompson at Devilbend to the tightly contested finals at Ipswich and Brisbane River, the standard of golf has been exceptional.
