The 2025 Handiskins Championship Week was once again perfectly complemented by the ever-popular Peter Lehmann Wines Golf Challenge, offering fantastic competition, camaraderie, and, of course, outstanding wines for those golfers not competing in the main Handiskins National Final.
This beloved event provides a wonderful opportunity for all Handiskins National Championship participants to continue their golfing journey on the Gold Coast, culminating in a special Peter Lehmann Wines Skins Final for the top qualifiers.

A Taste of Victory: The 2025 Skins Final
After hard-fought qualifying rounds, four skilled golfers earned their place in the coveted Peter Lehmann Wines Skins Final, where 18 bottles of the finest Peter Lehmann wines awaited the victors. The competition was spirited, with each player keen to take home a share of the prestigious prize.
Emerging as the top wine winner on the day was Graeme Nicholson from Longyard Golf Club, who masterfully secured an impressive six bottles of wine, plus an additional bottle for a nearest-the-pin shot. Close behind was Mick Harmer of Palm Meadows Golf Club, who also took home a handsome collection of six bottles. Diana Pinnuck from Long Reef Golf Club claimed four bottles, and Mark Merryfull of Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club rounded out the prize winners with three bottles.

The social highlight of Handiskins Championship Week is the incredible Peter Lehmann Wines Dinner hosted by the irrepressible Malcolm Stopp. Fine wine - paired perfectly with fine food, and plenty of laughs!
The Peter Lehmann Wines Golf Challenge: More Than Just Golf
The Peter Lehmann Wines Golf Challenge is a key social and competitive component of the Handiskins National Championship week. Here’s a brief overview of how this fantastic event unfolds:
- A Second Chance at Glory: It’s designed as a secondary competition specifically for club golfers who participated in the Handiskins National Championship qualifying rounds but did not make it into the main Handiskins National Final. This ensures everyone has more exciting golf to play and a chance to win.
- Qualifying Rounds: Similar to the main championship, participants play Stableford qualifying rounds.
- The Skins Final: The top four players from these qualifying rounds advance to the Peter Lehmann Wines Skins Final. This final is played under the exciting "skins" format, where each hole (or a series of holes) has a set number of Peter Lehmann wine bottles up for grabs. If a hole is tied, the wine jackpots to the next, adding to the thrill.
- Celebrating in Style: Beyond the on-course action, the Peter Lehmann Wines Golf Challenge is renowned for its enjoyable social atmosphere. A highlight is the series of dinners hosted by the knowledgeable and highly entertaining Peter Lehmann Wines ambassador, Malcolm Stopp. These evenings are a fantastic opportunity for over 180 golfers and their partners to relax, socialise, and learn more about the exceptional wines on offer.
