Inaugural Handiskins Teams Event Winners for 2025 - Headland Golf Club QLD
The Handiskins National Championship Week celebrated a thrilling new addition in 2025 with the launch of the Handiskins Teams Event, and it was Headland Golf Club from Queensland who etched their name in history as the inaugural champions!
This exciting new format brought an extra layer of camaraderie and competition to the Gold Coast, allowing club representatives to not only vie for individual glory but also to combine their talents for team success.
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
The competition was fierce, with clubs from across the country putting forward their best combinations. After the scores were tallied from the designated qualifying rounds, it was the consistent and skilled play of the Headland Golf Club team that saw them rise to the top. They narrowly edged out a strong contingent from Brookwater Golf & Country Club (QLD) who finished as commendable runners-up. The team from Blackwood Golf Club (SA) secured third place, with Longyard Golf Club (NSW) finishing in a well-fought fourth position.
The victorious Headland Golf Club team not only earned bragging rights as the first-ever Handiskins Teams Event winners but also shared a fantastic prize of $1000. The champions were in high spirits and certainly made a memorable night of it during the Handiskins Presentation Night celebrations!

Introducing the Handiskins Teams Event: A New Dimension of Competition
The Handiskins Teams Event was introduced to add another exciting dimension to the Handiskins National Championship Week, fostering a greater sense of club pride and teamwork. Here’s how this new competition unfolded:
- Club Representation: Golf clubs participating in the Handiskins National Championship were invited to nominate teams, typically consisting of their club qualifiers.
- Combined Scores: The event was contested over the two qualifying rounds of the Handiskins National Championship. The aggregate Stableford scores of the nominated team members were combined to determine the overall team total.
- Celebrating Team Success: The team with the highest combined Stableford score at the conclusion of the qualifying rounds was crowned the Handiskins Teams Event Champions.
The introduction of the Teams Event proved to be a resounding success, with participants embracing the opportunity to compete alongside their clubmates for this new title. It added another layer of strategy and excitement to the qualifying rounds and further enhanced the fantastic atmosphere of Handiskins Championship Week.
