The first ever Handiskins Club Championship was held today at Royal Hobart Golf Club with the 4 finalists braving the strong cold winds to play some outstanding golf. Once again we had another club with a plus marker making the final. Paul Read who plays off +3 went back to scratch for the final which pushed the other 3 finalists out 3 shots. David Tunbridge took full advantage of his extra 3 shot and was the highest money winner with $435, closely followed by Scott Finlayson, Paul Read, and Julio Correa. Well done guysand a special thanks to Matt Docking and his team in the proshop for their support. Well done guys, it was great to see everyone in the money and we hope to see you at the Handiskins National Championship at RACV Royal Pines 29th April to 3rd May on the Gold Coast
All four finalists received a Bridgestone Golf Cap and fought kit out for their share in $1200 of Club Vouchers. The final standings were:
- David Tunbridge - $435
- Scott Finlayson - $335
- Paul Read - $235
- Julio Correa - $195
Australian Championships Qualifications
All four finalists have now also qualified for the national championship and are extended an invitation to contest Australasia's best Amateur golf championship at the 2020 Handiskins Australian Championship at RACV Royal Pines Resort next year (Wed 29 Apr - Sun 3 May 2020). Given the great spirit contesting today we are sure all four finalists would be able to claim the silverware and be crowned Handiskins National Champion. Handiskins National Final Packages are now open to qualifiers to secure their rooms.
