Nelson Bay Golf Club 2021 Handiskins Championship

It was a familiar line-up at Nelson Bay Golf Club for the eight time today as our four finalists assembled for the right to be crowned the 2021 Champion. The man with a target on his back Was Stuart Phegan, the 2019 Champion and 2020 Nelson Bay Handiskins finalist was into his third consecutive final. He had made this event his own in recent years, and he was ready to play despite the impending rain forecast to smash the group.

Bridgestone Golf Handiskins Cap

And what a battle it was. Skins were shared, holes were jackpotting and the money was spread evenly around our finalists. As the foursome made its way into the final holes, it was anyone's championship for the taking.

They say class is permanent and Stuart Phegan's quality rose to the top to outlast his opponents to wn his second title in three years. Phegan came out on top winning $460 from Nick Aubrey $380, Kevin Hitchen $300 and Darren Stocks $60. The rain held off to give the finalists a clear run and well done to you all.

Well done everyone. We hope to see you at the Handiskins National Championship at RACV Royal Pines in 2022 on the Gold Coast.

All four finalists received a Bridgestone Golf Cap and fought it out for their share in $1200 of Club Vouchers.

National Championships Qualifications 2022

All four finalists have now also qualified for the national championship and are extended an invitation to contest Australia's best Amateur golf championship at the 2022 Handiskins National Championship at RACV Royal Pines Resort next May. Given the great spirit shown in today's club final, we are sure all four finalists would be in with a chance to claim the silverware and be crowned Handiskins National Champion. The 2022 event will be held from Wednesday 4th – Sunday 8th May 2022.
